Minister Curry joined the staff of The Open Church in October 2020 as the Minister of Leadership and Community Engagement. She is a 2019 graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary with a Master's of Divinity and Master's of Theological Studies. Her focuses are African-American Church Studies and Womanist Theological Ethics. Nila is also a Veteran with 10 years of Air Force experience. She is currently discerning Ph.D. studies in Christian Ethics with an emphasis in holistic health. Nila is a Miami native who enjoys traveling, community storytelling, and creative writing. She is also the founder of TribePurple LLC, a womanist initiative for healing and transformation.
