EVELYN C. MCLEOD ART GALLERY
The Evelyn C. McLeod Memorial Art Gallery is named in honor of Evelyn C. McLeod, a founding member
of The Open Church who served as chair of the Dream Keepers (our Board
of Directors) from 2012 to 2016. Affectionately called "Madam Chair," Evelyn was a visionary leader,
talented musician, and avid supporter of the arts. It is not hyperbole
to say that the seeds Madam Chair planted years ago in our earliest days are bearing fruit today.
This gallery was the brainchild of Professor Vincent Dion Stringer. In 2017, he saw the blank walls at The Open Church's new home on Vero Road in Arbutus, Maryland and was inspired to beautify the lobby and sanctuary. His imagination not only made our space more inviting through art, sales revenue supported the work of the kin-dom.
Transitioning the art gallery to the online space helps us to continue honoring Madam Chair and showcase the incredible talent in and around our community. If you would like to participate, please send inquiries to info@theopenchurchmd.org.
